SnipNotes ("we," "us," or "our") is a Shopify app developed by QodeBites. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you install and use our app.

1. Information We Collect

When you install SnipNotes, we may collect the following information through the Shopify API:

• Store information: Your store name, domain, and Shopify plan.
• Order data: Order IDs, order notes, and order tags necessary for the app's core functionality (inserting notes and tagging orders).
• Staff/user information: Names and roles of staff accounts accessing the app, for multi-user features.

We do not collect customer personal data (such as customer names, email addresses, or payment details) beyond what is strictly required for the app to function (e.g., smart variables that reference order-level details).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

• Provide the core functionality of SnipNotes, including inserting order notes, managing snippet libraries, and tagging orders.
• Enable WhatsApp order confirmation messaging when configured by the merchant.
• Maintain and improve the app's performance and reliability.
• Provide customer support when you contact us.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your snippets and app configuration data are stored securely. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure server infrastructure.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, except as required to provide the app's functionality (e.g., sending WhatsApp messages through the WhatsApp Business API when you configure that feature).

4. Third-Party Services

SnipNotes integrates with the following third-party services:

• Shopify: We access your store data through the Shopify API to provide the app's functionality.
• WhatsApp Business API: If you enable WhatsApp order confirmations, order details are sent via the WhatsApp Business API to deliver messages to your customers.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you have the app installed. Upon uninstallation, we delete your app data (snippets, categories, and configuration) within 30 days. Shopify may retain certain data according to their own privacy policy.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about your store.
• Request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
• Uninstall the app, which will trigger automatic deletion of your data.

7. GDPR & Data Protection

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Cookies

SnipNotes does not use cookies or tracking technologies on your storefront. The app operates entirely within the Shopify admin panel.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
